Hi Guys,

Just a few updates on projects I'm working at the moment, I'm voicing a couple of characters in the new series "Oddball" by Kreid (Ok technically a reboot, I think it's taking place in a different continuity to the shorts created so far)

Here's a preview of Episode 1, I play the guard opposite the rebel time keeper "Antique" played by the awesome Omahdon:

(I'll also be popping up again in Kreid's Oddball as another antagonist)

Half Full
In the next episode of Half Full there'll be a scene where a large number of people die, I don't suppose anyone reading this would be up for recording a short death scream for me? (Ideally your impersonation of the Wilhelm scream. Though variations should be ok - I'm contactable by Email: mrkerin@googlemail.com or PM)

As I mentioned - it's for a crowd death scream, so the more the merrier :)

I've nearly finished recording the main cast voices for Half Full Episode 8, which should be ready at the end of this month or early June. I'm aiming to get as many voice actors from previous episodes as I can back for this one, I want it to be the most epic animation I've made yet (Though it won't have a musical number in it, maybe the next one will...)

Cast so far:
Matti Ryan
Alex Wilson
Lu "Lunabelle" Greer
Jamie Appleyard
Eddie "Eddache" Bowley
Goldnerz
Thomas Wilson
David "Ramthundar" Ramthun

After Episode 8 is finished off I'll be starting work on the next two:
Episode 9: Murder on the Bakerloo Express and Episode 10: Village of the Darned (I want to try and avoid 2 to 3 part episodes at least for the next few)

Anyway here's a re-run of Episode 7 for the time being if you haven't seen it yet:

Yo,

New animation by Kreid is up on the Youtubes (I voice the guard chap):

I'll be returning in the next one too voicing the antagonist, I'm quite chuffed to have got the role :D

I've seen in quite a few places people requesting information on how to export movies from flash. The most popular method of exporting is in Apple's .mov format. I've always found this format to be a bit temperental on a Windows system, so my usual method involves exporting .PNG files as a sequence and importing them into the video editor of your choice (In Adobe Premier there is a little box labled "Numbered stills" in the inport box that needs to be checked)

Once this is done you should have a pretty high quality image sequence ready to be mixed with the sound files and exported into the format of your choice. I usually export to mp4 due to it's high quality and low file size, WMV offers smaller file size as well but at times the video quality can seem a bit questionable.

Here's a short video I made on the subject anyway.

Hope the video helps somebody out there, at the end of the day it's best to play around with different methods and find what works best for you.

Tom

ps. The Latest episode of my series "Half Full" is online @ Newgrounds/Youtube

"On Sunday the 25th of March 2012, Edd Gould passed away after a six year long battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed"

I'm guttered, Eddsworld has had a big influence on my own animating endeavours. "25ft under the seat", "Moving Targets" and the Zanta Claus trilogy are some of my favourite toons to pop up on Newgrounds.

I really regret being too intimidated to say hello at the London meet last year and telling him how awesome his work is...

My deepest condolences to his friends and family.

Preview of the next episode of my animated series is up!!! With Awesome new rocking theme tune by RobSoundtrack, check out his stuff in the portal :D

Episode should be finished fairly soon.

Other newsy stuff:

I'll be voicing villains in a couple of animations over the next couple of months, which i'm pretty excited about (I won't pin point when they're due out though, animation is a pretty long process)

No spoilers here, I'll be playing a baddie in Candle Cove by DingoWallyStudio (Alongside what looks like a Newgrounds all-star cast... which kinda begs the question what am I doing there?)

I'll also be playing the "Big Antagonist" (Real name is probably a spoiler) in "Oddball" by the talented Mr Kreid, which sneaking a peak at the animatic looks like it's going to rock.

I think he's looking for a couple of female voices for the project. If you can do a pretty decent English/Scotish/Irish accent (and um... you're female) why not have a go at auditioning for the chance to win big cash *prizes!!!!: Click here

Hope you're all doing well.

Tom (TDK1987/Singingmute)

*By cash prizes I of of course mean my everlasting love and respect for you.

The next episode of Half Full is coming along nicely (Hopefully it should be online next weekish)

There's a couple of new and returning guest voices in this episode, with Ramthundar, Goldnerz(Just two guys) and Jamie Appleyard (And of course the main cast of Matti Ryan, Alex Wilson and Lu Greer)

The show's also been pretty lucky music-wise with RobSoundtrack putting together a pretty nifty new theme for Half Full (Don't forget to check out his work in the audio portal, it's awesome)

I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with Newgrounds now, at first it was a bit intimidating trying to fit in. But after 2 years on the site (And two live meet ups) it feels awesome to be collaborating and mixing with the talented chaps who hang out here :D

If you're new here, don't be afraid to ask people if they can do a voice in your animation or compose some music for you. They want to create something awesome as much as you do.

Other newsy stuff:

I'll be voicing villains in a couple of animations over the next couple of months, which i'm pretty excited about (I won't pin point when they're due out though, animation is a pretty long process)

Hope you're all doing well

Oh hai Newgrounds, you sure do look sexy in your new red dress *Creepy Euro laugh*

Nothing much non-Half Full related to report, attended the NG Manchester Meet last month which was pretty cool. My memory can't really retain enough information to write up a decent sized blog post on a 2 day long event, though you can probably find info from less questionable sources (Bahamut, Coop, Dean, Lazy Pint to name a few)

The key events I remember involve "The Adventure of the damp walk in the rain", "The Adventure of playing a board game in a bar", "The Adventure of the terrifying horny drunken dwarf she-devil", "The adventure of the Subway sandwich", "The curious incident of the late burger", "The triumphant arrival of my burger".

I've never played card games or board games in a bar before, not that I have anything against it (I got involved afterall) It felt like I was going against some kind of social norm though... though that's probably because of people directly telling me it was going against social norm.

Plans for next meet:
1.Take pictures
2. Write up stuff I did at the end of the day to avoid poorly written write ups 1 month after the event has actually happened.
3. Don't write up 1 month after the meet up actually happened.
4. Good god man, go the gym. In those photos your double chin is starting to engulf your face.

Not much new stuff this month to talk about so far, I made an entry for the Super Heroes Voice Contest:
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/471035
It's all sound and stuff.

Anyway It looks like the next episode of Half Full won't be out this month (Probably early March)

I'm looking forward to finishing this one, it's a 30's Universal Horror/Hammer Horror parody (With the pheromone monster) I was tempted to do the whole thing in black and white but wasn't sure how long the joke would hold out for.
Well that and it's not 100% about the monster.

Anyway here's a link to the previous episode of Half Full:

*Edit* OH YEAH!! I made a redesign cartoon as well:
